Brady Featured Speaker at Children's Museum Conference

May 22, 2007

PITTSBURGH, PA - Brady Communications President John Brady was the lead presenter of a workshop titled “Breakthrough Branding” at the Association of Children’s Museum’s recent national conference. Brady took attendees of the InterActivity 2007 Conference held in Chicago through an 11-step process for building a strong organizational identity.

He illustrated the process with examples of Brady’s work with two organizations—The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh’s re-branding and The Association of Children’s Museums’ launch of its Good to Grow initiative that was geared toward establishing healthy lifestyles for children and their families.

Brady shared how the firm came up with the idea of highlighting the letters “h” and “i” in the words “Children’s Museum” as the museum’s key branding image. “It came from how the phone was answered: ‘Hi, we’re having a great day at the Children’s Museum,’” he explained. “It’s an example of how an organization’s personality can help shape the branding process.”

The Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) is an international professional organization representing and advocating for its member institutions. Membership ranges from children’s museums, to large collections-based institutions dedicated to serving young visitors through a variety of interactive exhibits, to groups that are in the planning phases of opening a children’s museum. ACM’s annual conference attracts more than 800 museum professionals from the United States and abroad.
