Making ScienceHappen

Brady Communications began working with The Carnegie Science Center to redesign its Web site. The site, while containing a wealth of information and robust content, was in need of reorganization. The goal of this project was two-fold: drive traffic to the Carnegie Science Center through a fun and engaging online experience and present the content in an easy-to-navigate format.

During this process, a branding element, “ScienceHappens,” was developed. While incorporating “ScienceHappens” into the Web site through various elements, we also branded collateral marketing tools to help launch the site and then live the brand. Some of these were billboards, signage, a countdown Web page, banners, viral marketing and even uniforms.

The newly redesigned site provides an easier-to-navigate, more user-friendly and more interactive site for CSC visitors, members and employees. The Web site supports the brand image and experience of the Carnegie Science Center. Cut

A Theme With Mojo

Coined by Brady Communications, the energetic phrase, SCIENCE HAPPENS, served as the platform for a large-scale branding campaign that highlighted key scientific principles and created curiosity about science.

Making Science Accessible

Brady Communications took hundreds of content pages from Carnegie Science Center's Web site and reorganized them in a fun, user-friendly format.

ScienceHappens.org

To build anticipation for the Web site's launch, Brady Communications created a teaser site: ScienceHappens.org. Visitors saw and heard a robotic arm in action. A countdown clock and the enigmatic phrase, SCIENCE HAPPENS, enticed visitors to come back on the day of the launch.

Inspiring Curiosity

The week before the launch, 3 full-page teaser ads ran in the daily newspapers. Each ad featured science in action at a progressive stage of development.

See the Signs

Brady Communications applied the branding theme to outdoor signage around the Science Center. These hanging banners reinforced scientific concepts such as magnetics, robotics and magnification.

Bringing Science to Each Visitor

Carnegie Science Center wanted its staff to be more recognizable and relevant. White lab coats for Science Center staff increased their visibility and added a sense of excitement to their roles.
